The project, promoted by Roma Capitale – Department of Culture, is a winner of the Artes et Iubilaeum – 2025 Public Call, funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU for major tourism events under the PNRR, Measure M1C3 – Investment 4.3 – Caput Mundi.

The project

Anatomie del nutrimento is a multidisciplinary cultural project and a winner of the Artes et Iubilaeum 2025 call, developed by Cities Art Project with the consultancy support of the company. The project explores food as a cultural, social, and environmental driver, integrating artistic practices, place-based participation, and the enhancement of local communities.

Anatomie del nutrimento celebrates culture, community, and the transformation of raw materials through an experience that brings together gastronomic traditions and artistic expression. It offers a unique opportunity to reflect on our relationship with food and nature, while rediscovering the value of local traditions.

Taking place between July and November 2025 in Rome’s Municipalities III and XV, the project comprises 14 activities, including workshops and participatory pathways, designed to generate cultural impact, social inclusion, and awareness around biodiversity and food heritage.

Workshops

In Rome’s Municipality III, the project Ecologie del nutrimento, developed by the artist duo Caretto–Spagna in collaboration with Spes contra Spem at Casa Famiglia dell’Approdo, explores the relationship between food, the environment, and human systems.

The project examines the interconnectedness of humans, food, and the environment, starting from the relationship between soil and microbiota and expanding into a broader reflection on biodiversity, food as an ecological element, and its role within communities.

In Rome’s Municipality XV, the programme La via lattea, curated by artist Gaia Scaramella and sociologist Greta Scaramella, examines milk as a key element of food culture. Each workshop, held at the Saxa Rubra Nursery School, explores the historical, symbolic, and cultural value of this food.
