The urban regeneration project Connecting Code, developed with the artists Bianco-Valente, is a winner of the Creative Living Lab V call by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
The project
Curated by the artist duo Bianco-Valente, the project fostered a profound dialogue between art, community, and urban space, creating new codes of connection between neighborhoods and citizens.
Through a series of workshops and participatory activities, Connecting Code actively engaged residents of all ages in a process of listening, sharing, and reclaiming the territory, culminating in the creation of three permanent site-specific installations located at la Ruana, the Resina vintage market, and Piazza Carlo III of Bourbon. The works, interconnected through the theme of relationships, reflect Ercolano’s contemporary identity and its link to collective memory.
The project was developed with Variabile K as lead partner, CAP – Cities Art Projects as mentor, and the Packard Institute for Cultural Heritage as co-financier, in collaboration with numerous local cultural institutions and under the patronage of the Municipality of Ercolano.
